The Class of 2025 at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School has carried on a longstanding tradition: racking up millions of dollars in college scholarships.

The 125 LP graduates collectively scored more than $2.5 million in scholarships, Chief School Administrator P.K. Poling announced at LP's 19th commencement.

"Once again, our students have made us all proud by earning these scholarships," Poling said. "It's more proof, if anyone needed it, that an outstanding education here at LP can lead you anywhere you want to go in life."

The vast majority of recent LP graduates plan to attend four-year programs to further their education. Members of the Class of 2025 plan to attend such colleges as The Juilliard School in New York, the United States Naval Academy, and Case Western Reserve University.

Some 2025 graduates have also been accepted at Point Park University, which recently signed an articulation agreement with Lincoln Park that will allow LP students to earn a variety of college credits while still in high school.

The 19th commencement ceremony at Lincoln Park was held in the school's Main Theater on June 7. Health Science major Hobart Schweikert was chosen senior speaker by his classmates, and he and Poling both addressed the soon-to-be graduates.

"Our students make us proud every day," added Poling, "and these scholarships our graduates have won are certainly a great reason to feel proud."

Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School is a tuition-free public charter school located in Midland, PA, and open to all Pennsylvania families. Students grades 7-12 are bused from more than 90 different school districts to study the arts concentration of their choice: theatre, writing and publishing, media arts, health science and the arts, music, dance, and pre-law and the arts.
