Beaver County BookFest Returns to Lincoln Park

Last year, after a long hiatus, Beaver County BookFest found a new home at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School in Midland.

And on Sept. 19, the Writing & Publishing Department at Lincoln Park will once again host this popular event for readers, writers, and book enthusiasts of all ages.

Beaver County BookFest will return to Alumni Hall on the Lincoln Park campus with more than 40 vendors from across the region

This family-friendly event is free and open to the public, and will take place rain or shine from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“We hope that everyone in the community will join us for a day of books, creativity, and community,” said Deanna Baringer, the director of the Writing & Publishing Department at Lincoln Park.

“We also encourage all of our students and families to help spread the word about BookFest across Beaver County and beyond.”

The book fair will feature a multitude of publications for sale from area authors, from romance and sci-fi to children's books and more. Hands-on activities will give guests the opportunity to learn more about typewriters, or try their hand at bookbinding.

There will also be food for sale from Eventz By MK, and beverages for sale from Beaver Falls Coffee & Tea Company.

And this year, for the first time since its revival, BookFest will offer a series of literary panels, hosted by acclaimed area authors Frederic S. Durbin and Wende Dikec.

These discussion panels will be held on the second floor of Alumni Hall. They will include 


* “Building Fantasy Worlds,” from 11 a.m. to noon

* “Getting to the Heart of the Story: Writing Romances That Resonate,” from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

* “Fiction-Crafting,” from 2 to 3 p.m.
