Transportation

One of the things that makes LP unlike any other charter school in Pennsylvania is that we have students from nearly 90 different school districts. These students are willing to travel great distances, in many cases, to get to LP and the opportunities it offers. So it’s our job to transport most of them to and from school each day.

Transportation at LP works like this: if you live in a school district that is 10 miles or less from Midland, your home district is responsible for transporting you to LP. But if you live outside that 10-mile radius—and most of our students do—then we transport you, using private school bus transportation.

This private transportation is set up as a hub system. By using our Transportation Center, you find the hub that is closest to your home. You have to get to and from this hub every day. We’ll take care of the rest!

In Case of Inclement Weather

In the event of inclement weather, please tune in to your local news stations (WTAE, KDKA, WPXI) for up to date information. If LP should choose to close or delay, we will send out a robocall and post to our social media sites, in addition to local news stations. Instructions for students will be provided in Google Classroom for Flexible Instruction Days.

For those students living within the 10-mile radius, transportation will run according to your home district’s policy if LP is in session. Please reach out to your district for their specific instructions.

Please remember, the safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. If you feel it is unsafe for your student to reach the school, please call the main office for your student to be excused for the day.
