Kellem, Lincoln Park win at buzzer

SLIPPERY ROCK – Freshman Antonio Kellem stole a West Middlesex pass with just over three seconds left then just beat the final buzzer with a layup to lift Lincoln Park to a 47-45 victory in the PIAA Class A quarterfinals Friday night.

Trailing by two, 45-43 with 25 seconds remaining, Lincoln Park ran a play to get center Devontae Watson the ball inside. Watson missed the turnaround shot, but teammate Jaylyn Cottrill, who just 40 seconds earlier missed a putback that would have tied the game at 45-45, made good on his second chance with 11.5 seconds left.

West Middlesex had one last chance, but Kellem stretched to tip a cross-court pass to himself, quickly got control of a high dribble and raced for the winning layup.

Ryan Skovranko led Lincoln Park with 14 points, and Trey Hosack had 11 before fouling out. West Middlesex helped Lincoln Park by missing two front ends of one-and-one free throw attempts late.
